DC Culture is an adaptation of Dublin Core Simple for cultural
metadata. It identifies the CIMI/Aquarelle High-Level Access
Points "who", "what", "where" and "when" as a relevant framework
for culture metadata. It resolves a mismatch between DC Simple
and those 4 high-level access point whereby <dc:subject>
and <dc:coverage> map to more than one high-level access
points. <dc:subject> and <dc:coverage> are higher
level concepts than the rest of DC Simple elements. In fact,
every item of data which would be mapped to <dc:subject>
or <dc:coverage> in a DC Simple setting can be mapped
instead to one of the DC Culture high-level.
<when> (which encompasses temporal coverage) is to be used
in place of <dc:date>.
Search facilities built on the DC Culture schema can offer 3
levels of search: simple, high-level and specific.
