The NRG

The NRG was established during the Belgian Presidency in 2001 as the “guardians of the Lund Principles”, following the promising results of the Lund meeting.

The NRG is a group composed of representatives nominated by the Member States’ authorities in response to the eEurope objective to create trans-European coordination mechanisms and infrastructure to support the digitisation of cultural and scientific content.

The NRG meets every six months, under the aegis of the Presidency in turn and supported by the European Commission, to share national experience and work towards the creation of a common platform for cooperation and coordination of national activities throughout the European Union, as well as for follow up at national level.
