Digitisation cluster

Shared initiatives

  • CLUSTER
The Technical Guidelines for Digitisation is one of the major coordination initiative launched within the cluster. The proposal aims to create a unique European framework for technical recommendations, the basic approach is not to produce ‘another digitisation guidelines’ but to offer a unique point of view linking other available guidelines and specific initiatives, over passing the current fragmentation.

  • CLUSTER
IPR is another aggregation argument for most of the projects joining the cluster initiative. First of all a map of resources and activities about that is expected then some coordinated objectives will be fixed.

  • MINERVAERPANETDELOSPRESTOSPACE:
following a Resolution of the Council of the European Union, a workgroup on long term preservation has been set-up and an agenda approved. The activity launched in October 2003 in Firenze will report about progress in September in The Hague.

  • MINERVAPRESTOSPACE:
MINERVA will organise a data collection campaign, firstly in Italy and secondly in Europe, about current situation of audiovisual archives and will use response to feed the PRESTOSPACE user group in addition to publishing results on the MINERVA Web site.

  • BRICKS – MINERVA:
cross-fertilisation among technical expert workgroups set-up by the two projects on common issues.

  • BRICKSPRESTO:
some BRICKS partners will participate to the user group for audiovisual archives set-up by PRESTOSPACE.

  • BRICKSCALIMERA:
the UK partner MLA participates in both the projects and so is organising a specific activity for small and local institutions (libraries, museums, archives) to apply and develop innovative technologies and strategies for serving ordinary citizens in their everyday lives.

  • BRICKSDELOS:
the technical partners National Council for Research in Italy and the Fraunhofer will prepare some documents and reports jointly reinforcing the consensus and impact on the research community.

  • MINERVA - EMII DCF:
joint position paper Encouraging IST research on European digital cultural content (October 2003) http://www.minervaeurope.org/intranet/documents/emiiminerva0310.pdf
